This architecture course called for the whole studio to work together to create a new place to store wood for the expanding needs of Wesleyan's woodshop. The new structure would have a lifespan of 5-10 years, fit aesthetically into the space, protect wood from the elements, and allow users to unload material safely and ergonomically. In addition to the clients needs, the studio wanted to also create a multi-purpose space for students in the art department that could serve as a performance venue, workspace, outdoor classroom, or just a nice place to eat lunch. Aside from the programatic needs of the shed, it would also need to be designed and built for dissesembly and reuse of the materials, which would be sourced locally whenever possible.
